About Our Investigation Firm
ExperTrace Investigations is a company built on strong work ethics, perseverance, a compassion for people, the ability to look at things from every angle, and a “never throw in the towel” attitude. We believe there is an alternate solution for most everything, and we will stop at nothing to find it!
Our founder, Diane Hellmer, discovered her passion for the investigative during her 12-year career as a television producer. As part of the workhorse of the industry, Ms. Hellmer had duties that often included identifying people in obscure videos, tracking down missing persons, locating lost footage, reuniting birth families, and conducting background checks on candidates appearing on major network TV reality shows since 1993.
Knowing where to look and who to call and having a vast network of contacts as well as national resources are among the reasons to hire us! Our team of experts enjoys problem-solving, strategizing, critical-thinking, and getting downright creative—whatever it takes to make it happen! We love a challenge and take pride in getting the job done and getting it done right!
In 2005, Ms. Hellmer received professional training from an expert genealogist and successfully reunited adoptees and birth families for a television show project. Four years later, she led the search team for yet another reunion TV show on ABC titled “Find My Family.” Her passion for locating and reuniting people never waned, and she continued working with those searching during her spare time over the years. Finally, an overwhelming desire took over, and she decided her career needed to take a detour into the field of private investigations, which eventually led to the birth of this firm in 2012!
Since 2012, we have continued to be the leader in reuniting birth families. Our founder’s rewarding experiences further developed into a passion for genealogy, which inspired her to fill the empty branches of her own family tree. As the daughter of an adoptee, she discovered this not only fulfilled her curiosity but also filled a deep void. Her strong desire to help others who are seeking closure fuels her determination to see every search through until someone is found. Even in the most difficult cases where a person has covered their tracks using assumed names and fake addresses, our clients still get answers!
